Adelaide Film Festival - 23/10/2023 - 3/11/2024 (Launch)

The Adelaide Film Festival kicked off in grand style last week on September 17 2024, with an unforgettable launch at the stunning Palace Nova cinema in the heart of the city. The red carpet was rolled out for an evening brimming with excitement, as film lovers, creatives, and special guests gathered to celebrate the unveiling of the 2024 program.

From the moment walked down the red carpet, the atmosphere was electric, with champagne, beer, and wine flowing freely, setting the perfect tone for what would be a night of cinematic magic. The event showcased a sneak peek of some of the brilliant films that will grace the screens over the festival’s 12-day run. There was also a beautiful live performance by talented dancers that left the crowd in awe. The event highlighted the incredible work of AFF's sponsors, partners, and organisers who have worked tirelessly to bring together such a diverse and dynamic film program.

Palace Nova, the launch venue, is just one of several iconic locations hosting screenings. The festival will also feature showings at Piccadilly Cinema in North Adelaide, The Odeon at Semaphore, Mercury Cinema and in the Palace Nova Cinemas Eastend. The AFF offers something for everyone, with an impressive selection of short films, documentaries, dramas, horrors, and even kids' films. Notable mentions include the highly anticipated Lego documentary, which promises to intrigue fans young and old, and "Kangaroo Island," a beautifully shot film capturing the raw beauty of South Australia.

The 2024 program is packed with an eclectic mix of local South Australian productions, international films, and plenty of other gems. For those eager to get involved, there’s also an Audience Award competition, where attendees can vote for their favourite films and be in the running for some exciting prizes.
