Today, on Remembrance Day, we pause to honour and remember those who served so bravely to protect our freedoms. At 11 am, let's join in a moment of silence to reflect on their sacrifices.
I think of my own grandfather, Sylvester Fallon (Sid), who served in the 27th Battalion during World War I. I recently learned his name is remembered on an Honor Board created by the Semaphore & Port Adelaide RSL, commemorating over 2000 local men from our community who volunteered to serve.
This is how I remember my Pop, recognized as a Service Man on his grave—a reminder of his courage and dedication.
Thank you to all who served, then and now. Lest we forget.
"Remembrance Day is observed as an international day of commemoration on 11 November, with 11am being the most important time to pause and reflect. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month is historically significant as the time that fighting in WWI officially ended."
