What an incredible weekend spent at the @Adelaide Film Festival! I had the chance to attend the world premiere of "With or Without You" at the beautiful The Piccadilly Cinema in North Adelaide on Saturday night. This film, which has been 25 years in the making, didn’t just tell an amazing story—it was truly a showcase of the talent and heart in our film industry. The acting was superb, and it was such a treat to recognize scenes shot in Adelaide and the breathtaking Adelaide Hills. Director Kelly Schilling, inspired by her own experiences, poured so much into this film alongside Producer Su Armstrong and Carolyn Johnson, with outstanding performances by Marta Dusseldorp, Melina Vidler, and Albert Mwangi. What a night to remember!
The Piccadilly was packed with filmmakers, cast, and film lovers, all there to celebrate this premiere and see the hard work of the cast, crew, and directors up on stage together. It’s amazing to witness so much talent and dedication come together for a story that resonates deeply.
On Sunday, I continued the festival journey with "I Am the River, the River is Me" at the Mercury Cinema. This powerful environmental documentary captured the deep cultural connections to the Whanganui River in New Zealand. Before the screening, we also saw an inspiring short on the preservation of ancient trees in #Tasmania, reminding us of the importance of protecting natural wonders.
